Positive Behavior Intervention Support

Picture
Positive Behavior Support Cary Elementary is a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) school. This simply means we take the time to teach children our behavior expectations and recognize them for living up to those expectations. Our students are taught to Roar with PRIDE! We believe this behavior support enhances their education. While we place an emphasis on academic achievement, we strongly value the importance of the whole child. We are proud to say we have been designated as a North Carolina PBIS Exemplar School.

As part of our behavior supports this year, we have launched a focus on Filling Buckets. Children understand that everyone carries an invisible bucket and when we use kind words and actions, we fill their bucket, and our own, to promote positive feelings. At Cary Elementary, we know that kids who feel better learn better.
